Acrylic Knife Handle Material
ACRYLIC, also called polymethyl methacrylate (PMMA), is a transparent thermoplastic.
This material is much more than a mere plastic. It is used as a substitute for glass, given that the acrylic’s resistance is much greater.
It can be given a variety of finishes (sanding, polishing and milling) and different shapes.
- Transparent
- Insulator
- Weather resistant: no significant changes in its properties following prolonged exposure to weather conditions
- Dishwasher- resistant
- Hardness: Similar to non-ferrous metals such as copper
- Mechanical resistance: 6 times stronger than glass
