Profile
Sheyn
Sheyn is a Vienna-based design studio founded by Nicolas Gold and Markus Schaffer, blending architecture, technology, and contemporary design. Founded in 2016, Sheyn has been creating finely crafted home accessories, conceived as "Tiny Architecture" with architectural precision and produced in its own Vienna studio using state-of-the-art 3D printing technology. The studio operates exclusively on demand: each object is made only after it is ordered, preventing overproduction while allowing a high degree of creative variety. The products are crafted from a lightweight, durable corn-starch-based biopolymer (PLA). The designs are created by architect Nicolas Gold, co-founder and Head of Design. His education at the University of Applied Arts Vienna under Zaha Hadid and Kazuyo Sejima has shaped the clear, structural, and geometric design language that defines Sheyn's collections. The name Sheyn means "beautiful" in Yiddish – a reflection of cultural exchange and a longing for beauty that is embodied in each of the studio's creations.
