The company was founded in 1982 by Kazuhiko Takaghi in Tokyo. Since 1995 Mark's has been active worldwide and employs around 300 people. The company is active in 54 countries worldwide. With 21 of its own stores, Mark's is a trendsetter in Japan and is the market leader in Designed Stationery. The company also produces and distributes its own masking tape collection in addition to pocket and end-of-the-calendar covers as well as notebooks. In addition, Mark's product lines include OMY Design & Play, Pansy Daisy, Minus, Kawada, Kartotek, Ohto, Max, APICA, Shogado and Suatelier. This is available worldwide through retailers, retailers and online shops. In early 2008 Mark's Europe was founded in Paris. A sales office was opened in May 2011 in Frankfurt am Main.
