Artelegno is a second generation family company set in the beautiful landscape of the Italian Alp region. Founded as a carpenter business it developed over the years as a manufacturer of high quality wooden housewares items. During the years Artelegno has grown in different markets becoming a trusted supplier of many important customers. The company exports more than 95% of its turnover. Each Artelegno product embeds in itself the world famous Italian design spirit and creativity. Keen to the concept that the goal of good design is to achieve awesome looks combined with outstanding functionality, Artelegno tests its items in everyday' s life use in order to ensure that each and every product meets these criteria. Artelegno selects the finest quality materials: wood from sustainably managed forests, neodymium magnet for a very safe hold of knives, food safe oils and water base varnishes for the smoothest finish and the best protection of the wood. These materials are shaped, by the skilled hands of very experienced Italian craftsmen, through production processes that still today imply a high content of handwork, into objects that blends in themselves a perfect synthesis of design, quality and practicality of use. Although the skills of experienced craftsmen are fundamental in the production process still today, Artelegno has recently invested in a brand new CNC machine and in a laser marker in order to be even more flexible in terms of shapes and personalization of products. Artelegno takes very seriously the safeguard of our environment; from the purchase of wood coming from sustainably managed forests, to the implementation of production processes and investments in order to minimize its emissions, and the recycling of wood wastes as heating energy for its facilities. We are an Italian company specialized in the production of wooden kitchen accessories. with particular focus is on knife blocks, cutting boards and trays. The firm was founded in 1960 by our father who started as a general carpenter In the '80s, we joined our father in the business, and building on his skill and experience, we step-by-step developed a product line of wooden housewares. Our dedication to the careful selection of raw materials and the drive to improve efficiency of production while maintaining high quality has allowed us to develop items of excellent quality. Our flexibility and reliability has earned us a very good reputation as a trusted supplier on the international market. We export more than 90% of our product. In addition to our standard items, we also develop production according to customers' designs and price needs. All our products (but the cutting boards and plates ) are lacquered with water based varnish that is compatible with food contact. Our cutting boards and plates are fine-sanded and finished with special oil, that gives high performances in terms of hydro-repellence and resistence to stains, guarantees a smooth touch and is food safe.
