The cabinet has a traditional linseed oil finish that complements the brass on the hinges. Over time, the cherry wood matures, changing from a light tone to a warm reddish hue. The grain has beautiful variations, with darker accents formed by resin pockets. Additionally, the bird is hand-painted using water-based paint.

About Great Spotted Woodpeckers

The great spotted woodpecker is a medium-sized, black-and-white bird with a red patch on the lower belly. Its bouncy flight and distinct colours make it easy to spot.
This little bird spends most of its time snug against tree trunks—avoiding prying eyes. They are common in woodlands and parks, but they will also visit bird feeders. You can hear their distinct drumming display echoing through the woods in spring.
