Mutekibasami has two serrated blades that can grip slippery and hard foods like frozen meat and provide a clean cut. It can also cleanly cut even soft vegetables with a large amount of moisture such as tomatoes, cucumbers and so on. Mutekibasami can be taken apart and is dishwasher safe. Mutekibasami can make your cooking easy and fun.

• Double-serrated blades that hold foods firmly

The saw-like teeth of the edge of both blades can grab and hold foods firmly. This helps the grip power transmit directly into the cutting point and leads to a clean cut.

• Avoiding slips while cutting hard foods

There are many kitchen scissors which have a serrated edge on just one blade, but not both. When we first developed prototypes, we found that often each serrated blade would easily interfere with each other. We repeatedly tested various models until we found the best intervals of serrated teeth and the best angle between blades when they are overlapping.

Mutekibasami is produced in Seki where the traditional Japanese techniques of sword-making has been passed down, and is one of the best blade production areas in the world. Each Mutekibasami is adjusted and finished by the hands of skillful craftsmen.

• A wave washer in the joint produces a smooth cut

Inserting a wave washer in the joint part can keep the specific angle between blades at every single working point and makes it so that either serrated blade does not interfere with each other. In addition, since it plays a role as cushioning, it prevents wobble while cutting and cuts both hard and soft foods smoothly with minimal power required.

To cut hard food easily, we carefully considered the handle design : shape, thickness, anti-slip surface finishing and easy transmission of grip force.

• Easy disassembly and dishwasher safe

As Mutekibasami can be taken apart into two parts and is dishwasher safe, it is easy to keep clean.
